Concept
A concept is an abstract thought or generic notion generalized from a particular area. It is the very first kernel of an idea. It can be as simple as a single word or a drawing . It is the conception, the beginning, the first step on your way to a story -and it is usually the device that keeps the story moving. Story Engine is the vehicle that drives the concept through the story. The concept is the fuel for the engine. A common writer's mistake is to use a gag or vignette and assume it illustrates an entire story when it does not. Thia attempt at a sotry fails because there is not enough of a concept to fuel the story engine.
