For
the FINAL PROJECT you must record at least some original dialog,
monologue or voice-over. (this can not be taken
from the Internet) This can be one of your team members voices,
the voice of a friend(s) or amateur voice actor(s). Moreover
the talent/ability level of the voice acting is not important.
What is important is how you use the VISUAL and STORY elements
in relation to the voice(s). One of your team members will be
responsible for directing the voice acting.
All
care should be taken to create technically good quality recordings,
yet you will not be graded based on technical perfection of
sound.
You
may use "Garage Band", or many other free and available
audio wavrecorders. If you do not have access to a microphone,
you can purchase an inexpensive yet effective microphone anywhere
from $3-4 to $16: here
NEW: We have a new microphone in room FA307 that you can check out and use in the room.
How
much your spend is up to you, but you will do just fine with
an under 16 dollar microphone for this project. If you want
to invest in a good mic, that is up to you.
Here
is more info on recording:
software
you can use:
-"Garage
Band" provided in both 225 and 226, or your own at home
(if you have a Mac, it should come free)
-Or
download free wav recorder software if you have your own computer:
for
Windows:
http://www.fileguru.com/apps/free_wav_recorder_mac
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about
for
Mac:
http://www.nch.com.au/software/mac.html
or you can Google "free wav recorders"
again, most Mac's already have "Garage Band"
The
microphone you choose should have a "mini" jack, but
if it has a "phone jack/quarter inch jack" you can
buy an adapter that goes to "mini" (inexpensive)
