(1) form groups, 3-6 members.

(2) 40 SECONDS PER PERSON

(3)Using the real camera stop-motion technique, however; you may use editing and compositing software to enhance and develop your work. That is: you must use stop motion animation technique as the driving technique for your work, but use AFTER EFFECTS for post-production, enhancement, special FX, editing, etc, to produce the final length of at least 4 minutes.

(4) you may use existing sound, record your own sound, or work with someone inside or outside the school to create a "musical" element for the audio. All ideas should be run by me first.

(5) This is your final and major project of this class. A progress critique and the final presentation will also contribute to your grade. For more detail on grade breakdown see bottom of the Art 3780 syllabus.

(6) your team will be assigned a SET-SHOOTER station, which you will use for the rest of the quarter. A total of five set-shooters will be divided between rooms 307 and 225.

(7) you will work primarily on the set-shooters, but you may also use the glass-shooters to supplement any scene(s).

(8) you will build small "sets". You will use the sets in your work, and any art materials to create original stop motion animation. The sets need to be portable and removed from the station at the end of each class. There is a minimal amount of storage, so recommendation that you designate one person to be responsible for moving and storing the set.

(9) you will use creative lighting, shadows, colors and any artistic and unique properties of actual materials.

(10) you may build puppets that are 2Dor 3D. You may used found objects and materials, but all materials MUST BE APPROVED BY ME.
