RANDOMLY SIZED PARTICLES

GOAL

make more natural looking water droplet shapes, fluid spray, or simply anything

that can benifit from size-randomization in an particle emission

OVERVIEW

you will randomize the size of each particle (droplet) of a water-spray simulation by writing a short Script in an Expression Editor

This will appear as more natural and varied shaped "water droplets".

STEPS

1)Make a simple fountain

2)Create an emitter in Particles, Emmitter options, Directional

3)set direction to 0,1,0 set the spread to 2, and speed to 10

4)select "particle1" and choose Fields, Gravity

5)in Render Attributes, Particle Render Type, and spheres

6) choose General, under Add Dyniamic attributes

7) select particle tab, locate RadiusPP, select Creative Expression

8) In the Expression Editor, enter

radiusPP=.1+.5*rand(1);

you are DONE

when you play back, your spheres sizes are randomized.

Vary the interger of randomization for more or less span bewteen sizes. J.O.
