PROJECTIONS ON LAKE
opportunity to show video/digital artwork (art animation)
I would like to offer your students an opportunity to exhibit artwork in the form of a public digital projection. Projections on Lake is a permanent, nightly, public outdoor projection of video/digital artwork located in Pasadena, California. The Projections Project has been operating smoothly for 6 months and the annual Competition is over. I am now inviting Southern California college and university art departments to participate in the programming of this unique artists' venue with an evening devoted to student work from individual schools in the area.
I'm hereby getting the word out to instructors and administrators about the program; please pass this on to the appropriate members of your campus to encourage a selection of work for an evening's screening. I foresee these events as being a culmination of some of the teachers' media curriculum, but the application is up to the individual schools' staff. Each school may select a group of works to be submitted to me in DVD format and together we can choose a date to show the work. Since there is no sound with the Projections on Lake project, the pieces must be silent, and since this is a public venue, sensitive to the standards of the community. The duration for each night of programming will be up to two hours.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions regarding this project.
I hope you have a chance to visit the project and view the current program, the winners of our annual Competition and a selection of the finalists. Please visit the Projections on Lake website: www.projectionsonlake.com for location, scheduling, and other information.
Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
David Bradshaw
